Get a new job as driving instructor
Becoming a driving instructor is an ideal occupation if you love cars, are good with people and are good at communicating. To become a driving instructor with Chesterfield Driving School you need to have a high standard of driving. Far higher than is required for the driving test for learner drivers. Some people think that just being able to pass on the information that they learned when they passed their test will be enough to qualify them as an instructor. Unfortunately this is not the case. To be a registered ADI or approved driving instructor you need to pass three test. These tests will examine your knowledge by means of a theory test, your driving ability and thirdly how good you are at instructing another person (pupil).
Increasingly the DVSA are requiring client centred learning. This means that it is no longer sufficient just to pass on your knowledge and identify and remedy driving faults but you need to demonstrate that you put the client at the centre of the driving lesson rather than what you have decided to teach them.
It is essential to get professional driving instructor training to help you to become a qualified ADI, entered on the DVSA register of driving instructors. many of the major driving schools offer appropriate training.
